Harvesting Prosperity and Resilience (HPR) Project: Promoting food, income and nutrition security
Enhance food and nutrition security among 3,100 smallholder farmers in Karonga and Mzimba districts through an integrated approach using a model known as Makwerelo.
CHILD NOT BRIDE
Reduce child marriages, teen pregnancies and increase girl’s education attainment.
Address issues of Gender inequalities and discrimination of women and girls; lack of Education; lack of Sexual Reproductive and Healthy Rights (SRHR); limited economic opportunities for youth and young women; and low self-esteem and agency amongst girls.
RESTORED HOPE FOR ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN
Bursary scheme for orphans and other vulnerable students targeting boys and girls in every year. The project catchment area covers all T/A’s in Karonga and other districts in the Country. Students get recruited in the scheme using the designed Need Based Assessment Tool which each student fill to apply and attach an approval letter from the chief of respective village.
School Meals Program(SMP)
Improve access to school education in the through provision of necessary Equipment and Skills to establish a community owned, self-sustaining SMP in 16 schools of Chitipa District.
Mpata community day secondary school(cdss) and Early childhood development(ecd).
Improve of Mpata Secondary School in Karonga District by introducing additional structures.
Provide children with access to Pre School education. ECD program has been implementation at 7 Schools in Karonga District.
