FOCUS through Mpata CDSS Classroom Blocks construction projects in collaboration with the District Council
Department of Social Welfare organized the training for the Care Givers, equipping them with skills
of making play materials for kids from local materials.
FOCUS in collaboration with the District Council Department of Social Welfare organized the training for the Care Givers drawn from the seven CBCC communities of; Kabuyu, Mlowo, Tuhowike, Kasisi, AB Mwakasungula, Mwafilaso and Mwambetania. A total of 35 care givers have been trained. The training was led by three Social Welfare Officers with one facilitator from the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia ECD Department who managed the use of Smart Phone Tablets with Early Learning Syllabus and all ECD processes using the smart phone. Each CBCC has been given a phone tablet, solar panel and battery for use. These material package was sourced from Rodger Fedrer Foundation and Malawi Government.
During the training the Care Givers have been equipped with skills in making play materials for kids from local materials. The participants are able to sew different toys like people and animals from cloth and cartons, houses, cars, sewed alphabets on sack, others made from molding clay soil.
